Winning Hearts and Minds (2) “MedCap”

In this episode, Sergeant Kling and Captain Corsten of the US Army Civil Afairs Command in Afghanistan tell us about their MedCap effort. This includes not only vaccinating against serious diseases, but also “Operation Flintstone” – providing chewable vitamins to Afghan children. (These vitamins were donated by Sergeant Kling’s mother and the ladies of Austin Texas).

Winning Hearts and Minds – Episode 1

Today marks the release of the first episode of “Winning Hearts and Minds”, a documentary which chronicles the incredible work of the US Army Civil Affairs soldiers in Afghanistan. The episode is sponsored by the Personal News Network.

In this episode we are introduced to the team: Sergeants Kling, Reisz and Carrillo, and the unit CO Captain Corsten. We see the soldiers helping out the Afghan locals build a dam in preparation for the flood season.
